“My time at SculptedMinds was transformative. I struggled in elementary school, wanting to go at a different pace than the rest of my class, but not having that option at a traditional school. Mrs. Neela gave me that option and turned an average student like me into one getting straight A’s, a 34 on my ACT, and placing out of high school geometry with no formal classroom training. The greatest part of SculptedMinds is Mrs. Neela’s incredible analytical reasoning abilities as well as her warm and supportive approach to learning that she demonstrates each session by personalizing the curriculum to address the specific needs of her students. She has an extraordinary amount of experience as an educator, tutor, and mentor, and I cannot recommend her enough. If you are interested in seeing your child laugh and have fun while developing strong academic abilities, this is the place for you.

“We had Neela Ranganathan tutor my son for Single variable and Multivariable Calculus when he was a Junior in High School.
He made significant performance gains with her tutoring in both those subjects. She was willing to personalize the program to suit his needs and promptly responded to his requests. My son felt like whatever work was done during the tutoring sessions was useful and had immediate impact in classes the following days.

She was readily available during and even after tutoring sessions to provide assistance with Calculus problems. She was approachable and accommodating during the onset of the pandemic and we were able to have effective zoom tutoring sessions.

She truly cared about her students and wanted them to succeed and grasp the concepts so that they would be able to apply the knowledge in future class topics. She was very kind and respectful and students always felt comfortable telling her if they didn't understand any concepts.
We would highly recommend her!”

I highly recommend Neela's tutoring and education consulting. She works with students and parents to develop curriculum best suited to the strengths and needs of each individual student and family. She has experience with working with students for whom school is challenging, and for those who need more of a challenge than traditional schooling can give them. This is a place to help your child grow regardless of where they are in their current journey, and to help give parents the tools and expertise they need to support their child. I cannot speak highly enough of Neela's strengths as a tutor and educational consultant.

“Ms. Neela is an exceptional teacher who exhibits a strong passion for teaching. She takes her time with students to ensure they truly grasp the material they are trying to learn, and she approaches teaching with a holistic approach. Ms. Neela was able to transform me from a struggling math student to an Algebra wizard. Her abilities are unmatched, and she would be a stellar addition to any educational setting.”

I’ve had the privilege of associating with Neela since 2002, when she enrolled her son at Irvine Home School (IUSD), where I was teaching at the time. Neela stood out as an extraordinary home schooler. She is an excellent teacher and learning coach, and she has guided many students to great academic and personal success over the years, including her own son, who is currently pursuing a PhD at Harvard. Neela loves to learn and loves to inspire other learners. She is a beautiful blend of intelligence, tenacity, kindness and patience. She amplifies others and accelerates their growth. Any opportunity to work with Neela is a gift!

To say that Ms. Neela helped me become more confident in my studies is an understatement. At first, I viewed math and chemistry as dull requirements; however, in less than two years with Ms. Neela, these subjects have become something I actually enjoy. With her, I have the space to plunge into ideas and trace their connections.

I remember my first lesson in chemistry, when Ms. Neela framed chemistry as something woven through everyday life. From that moment, chemistry came alive for me. I would have never thought that balancing redox reactions could feel therapeutic until I found comfort in chemistry.

That balance of curiosity and comfort carried into everything we covered together. We connected matrices with balancing chemical equations, worked on logic puzzles, and discussed exceptions to the zero product property. Through all of this, we went beyond “graduation requirements” in enriching ways.

In none of my lessons with Ms. Neela have I left without learning something new.
